Where was Bucky Barnes during the whole Eric taking over Wakanda? Like was he just guarding the goats?

Ive seen that, but you’d think Eric would have try to get the winter soldier on his side. If i was taking over a country, i want the winter soldier with me.
I think that only works if you’ve got that red book with the star on the cover…

According to the prelude, Steve and Bucky didn’t return to Wakanda until *weeks later* following the bunker fight, and Erik showed up within the week (?) of T’Chaka’s death. So they were out having renegade margaritas or something.
Ok but then why did Shuri say “another broken white boy for me to fix” when T’Challa turned up with Everett Ross??
Because she knew he was coming. T’Challa invited them to come back , and Steve said they would but had something to take care of first (ETA I just reblogged the prelude and this isn’t entirely accurate)
This is such a hauntingly beautiful story and i can’t rec it enough. I’m not good with words, I can only express it through art, and I hope I did the story justice.
Also, this would explain a lot about Steve. His recklessness and his morals. XD
